Job Title: Quality Assurance Manager
Reports To: General Manager
Main Purpose of Job
The Quality Assurance Manager ensures the safety, compliance, and quality of all food products produced by the company. This role is responsible for implementing and monitoring rigorous quality control procedures across the manufacturing process, conducting audits, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enforce standards. The Quality Assurance Manager addresses customer complaints, implements corrective and preventive actions, and ensures adherence to local and international food safety regulations — safeguarding the company’s reputation and consumer confidence.
Main Responsibilities

Implement, maintain, and continuously improve quality control procedures for all food products.

Conduct regular audits and inspections of manufacturing facilities, equipment, and processes.

Collaborate with production, R&D, and procurement teams to establish and enforce quality standards for raw materials, ingredients, and finished products.

Train staff in food safety practices, quality procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Investigate customer complaints and quality issues, ensuring timely resolution.

Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions to address non-compliance and prevent recurrence.

Monitor and report on quality data, compliance metrics, and process efficiency.

Liaise with regulatory agencies and certification bodies to ensure compliance with HACCP, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, and local legislation.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and optimize processes.

Maintain up-to-date documentation, including SOPs, policies, and quality manuals.

Coordinate product testing, sampling, and microbiological analysis to verify compliance with specifications.

Manage supplier approval and monitoring for raw materials and packaging.

Support the Plant Manager with administrative and operational tasks and assist the COO when required.

Collaborate closely with the R&D department to integrate quality requirements into new product development.

Be available for flexible shift work and on-call requirements outside standard working hours.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related field.

Master’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or Quality Management (desirable).

5–7 years of relevant experience in food manufacturing.

Certification in HACCP, ISO 22000, or FSSC 22000 (highly desirable).

Strong understanding of Angolan FMCG sector laws, with proven experience engaging with ANIESA (desirable).

Language Requirements: English (C1 level), Portuguese (B2 level).
