Overview

A leading technical instrumentation organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Field Service Engineer to deliver expert installation, calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting support for electro-mechanical laboratory equipment across West Africa. The role requires a strong technical background combined with the ability to manage customer relationships and support regional service operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead installation, commissioning, servicing and calibration of laboratory instrumentation at customer sites across West Africa.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex electro-mechanical, electrical and pneumatic system faults.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and calibration activities in accordance with ISO / ASTM standards and internal procedures.
  • Produce detailed calibration certificates, service reports and technical documentation.
  • Maintain accurate service records and manage assigned field schedules effectively.
  • Provide high-level technical support and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Support and mentor junior field engineers where required.
  • Identify opportunities for equipment upgrades, service improvements and additional customer support requirements.
  • Coordinate with internal technical and sales teams regarding customer needs and service opportunities.
  • Attend technical reviews, product training and regional service meetings.

Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience servicing laboratory or industrial instrumentation.
  • Strong experience in electrical diagnostics, calibration and fault-finding.
  • Knowledge of pneumatic systems and electro-mechanical equipment.
  • Experience working with calibration and measurement equipment.
  • Strong analytical and technical troubleshooting capability.
  • Ability to work independently across multiple customer sites and countries.
  • Strong customer-facing communication skills.
  • English language proficiency preferred.
  • Previous regional field service experience within Africa is advantageous.
